TLDC RISE Croydon

"The Collective's extraordinary modelling rising again at Croydon's Rise Gallery"
by Carla Tofano

The life Drawing Collective is a multi-model project that really stands for the force of the art made out of an exceptionally alive instant of pure life. That's why we work beautifully connected around the idea of creating realities that can relate to the extraordinary, without missing the impulse of the inevitable down-to-earth real human breath. This heartbeat is what we offer as inspiration in each one of our sessions.

Also, because we believe art is an inclusive form of survival and social connection, moving outside the city and around the country, seems a natural consequence of the inspiring adventure that keeps the three of us tight together. Challenging our physical horizons and possibilities offers the project an enthusiastic way to reach the artists outside of London who want to draw us. For this reason The Life Drawing Collective has scheduled a new great vibrant tableaux on the 31st of March at Rise Gallery in Croydon.

RISE Gallery has become the hub around which Croydon's flourishing art scene revolves, originally inspired by the very daring idea of Croydon rising from the ashes after the riots of 2011.
This, of course, makes the venue a natural destination for The Life Drawing Collective Croydon's peregrination.

Thanks to the invitation of proactive local art activist, the lovely and efficient Leoni Descartes, our team of three is determined to contribute to this emerging creative suburban scene as often as we can.
Manko, Andrew, Carla and Leoni welcome you at RISEgallery
Surrounded by vibrant street/pop art on the walls of RISEgallery, with our flesh and bones joining in the beautiful exhibition, we will be offering arms up, head downs, waist twisted and any possible useful body composition adequate to defying our own soul and body comfort - all to prove that great historical art references, tasteful set ups and long sustained almost impossible poses, are about everything but elitism.

This invitation is of course extended to each one of you to join us, to follow the steps of our living map of life drawing adventures. Draw us this time at Croydon, and let's be living art, here, there and everywhere.
